Love for watercolour painting has been a fulfilling and transformative journey for Suzanne Empey. From early days in night classes, and training from Morton Baslaw, past president of the Ottawa School of Art, each step has brought new insights and joy. The support of talented teachers and the inspiration from fellow artists has been invaluable.

Suzanne’s ever evolving ideas and techniques exudes much whimsy and joy.

Every painting is an opportunity to connect with others, to evoke emotions, and to share a piece of her soul. As she looks back on her journey, she is grateful for the mentors, experiences, and inspirations that have shaped her into the artist she is today. The world of watercolour is vast and full of possibilities, and Suzanne is eager to see where it will take her next.
