Violeta was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She holds a degree in Architecture from the University of Buenos Aires, as well as a diploma in Visual Arts from the Ottawa School of Art. She also pursued studies in fine arts at the National School of Fine Arts in Buenos Aires.

In addition to her visual art practice, Violeta is a jewelry designer working primarily in sterling silver and freshwater pearls, creating contemporary pieces. Some of her work can occasionally be found at the Ottawa Art Gallery Boutique.

Violeta’s paintings create a connection between herself and the viewer, inviting a personal and ever-shifting experience. Through the deliberate use of colour, texture, and materials, she builds compositions in which vibrant geometric patterns echo the complexity of the urban landscape.

Construction is central to her process—she adds and subtracts shapes until a sense of balance and dialogue emerges within the space. She aims to bring a feeling of joy and playfulness to each work, encouraging the viewer to linger and explore.

At its core, her practice is rooted in experimentation and discovery, driven above all by the pleasure of making.

“The world always seems brighter when you’ve just made something that wasn’t there before” Neil Gaiman
