About ACP
Arts Carleton Place is beginning a new chapter of its life with 150+ committed members and a dynamic board bursting with ideas to build on the successes of the past.
Our executive, board members, minutes of board meetings and the by-laws are available at ACP Board.
ACP organizes two fantastic events that celebrate art and creativity! The spring Fine Art Show and Sale showcases a variety of artistic works on the first weekend of May, and the Itty Bitty Art & Crafts Sale allows for unique handmade crafts to be featured as well, usually on the first weekend of November. Hosting these events at the Carleton Place Arena provides ample space for artists and craftspeople to display their work, while attendees can enjoy exploring and purchasing art from local talents.
The annual Student Bursary Program is a vital component of Arts Carleton Place’s mission to support local youth in their artistic endeavors. Funded by generous donations and proceeds from various art shows, this program allocates a minimum of $1,000.00 in bursaries each year to deserving students from Carleton Place High School and Notre Dame Catholic High School. The decision on award distribution is made by the schools, ensuring that the funds reach those who will benefit the most. For more information and to see a list of past recipients, visit our Bursary web page.
Another wonderful initiative to support local artists and enhance the community’s cultural landscape is ACP’s Art In Public Places program. Several local businesses participate in showcasing our members’ art. The opportunity to purchase the artwork is available by contacting ACP.
ACP’s monthly e-newsletter Artsy Happenings delivers a curated selection of upcoming art events featuring local ACP members to an ever growing list of patrons. Subscribers will find information on where to see artists’ work, catch theatre productions, enjoy musical performances, and much more.
The Members Gallery on our website serves as a dynamic showcase of ACP’s members’ work, offering a vibrant online presence that highlights their artistic creations. This platform not only displays their individual styles and mediums but also allows art enthusiasts to explore and appreciate the diverse talents within our community.
