Texture as a means of expression
(Click an image for details and larger view)
Danielle Beaulieu began experimenting with watercolours about 10 years ago and is a self-taught visual artist. A few years ago she became a full time artist and her artwork took a positive turn. She was selected to be an elected member of the Society of Canadian Artists two years ago. She has taught numerous workshops and teaches 6-week classes to guide her students to advance their skills. Danielle has also taken a number of workshops with some of the best watercolorists in the world.
During the pandemic, Danielle acquired the subjects of her paintings from individuals who no longer had interest in keeping these family heirlooms. She is committed to preserving these items through her hyper-realistic technique which requires meticulous attention to detail, bringing out the reflections, texture and unique characteristics of each item.
The most obvious attribute of her work is the use of texture as a means of expression.
