Born in Gatineau Quebec and raised prominently in Kitchener/Waterloo, Jonathan found his love for creating art and exploring Canadian wildlife at a young age. Guided by a lineage of artists within his family, Jonathan is mainly self taught through years of experimenting with mediums and techniques. He primarily uses Acrylic paint, however he also enjoys traditional illustrating with pen & ink.
Diagnosed with Autism spectrum disorder, Jonathan exhibits niche hyperfixations within his artworks including; birds, animals, plants, and fungi. He draws inspiration from anomalies he encounters while hiking or foraging for exotic edible mushrooms, and often adds his own surreal twist to his final works.
Jonathan moved from Waterloo to Ottawa in 2017 to work in fine dining, and found his way to Mount St. Patrick during Covid-19, a small village located within the Ottawa valley surrounded by hills, trees, and farms. Since then, he has drifted through Renfrew and Arnprior connecting with locals through his art, and continues to pursue his visionary endeavors within the Ottawa Valley.
