Kim is an esteemed local artist now residing in Perth, Ontario since late 2022. She is an active member of several regional art associations including East Central Ontario Art Association, Arts Carleton Place and the Kanata Art Club and was a member of the Artistes Hudson Artists based in Hudson, Quebec for many years.
Since childhood, Kim has always loved creating works of art. While pursuing successive careers in business, teaching, government and raising a family, she still found the time to study and experiment with pastel drawing, watercolour painting, mixed media and stained glass. Since retiring in 2012, Kim has been able to focus on both her passions: art creation and outdoor recreation.
She is an avid cyclist and cross-country skier who brings a camera to capture the scenery along the way. These photographs guide her landscape compositions and inspire the mood and lighting reflected in her artwork.
Kim has continued to seek out opportunities to learn from many acclaimed Canadian landscape artists. Most recently she has expanded her portfolio to include acrylic artworks, as well as continuing to work with watercolours. In addition to her studio work, Kim is excited to broaden her talent and experience to paint “plein air” landscapes on location around Lanark County.
Being active in the outdoors energizes her both physically and spiritually. It is this positive energy that inspires her to create the colourful and light-filled beauty that you will find in all of her paintings.
