Using the Digital Darkroom to create Photographic Art

In his early twenties, Len bought a 35 mm Konica SLR camera and ventured into the world of photography. Initially shooting with colour film he soon started using Kodachrome slides for most of his pictures. Setting up a darkroom allowed him to develop his own black and white pictures.
Closer to my retirement and with the advent of digital cameras, my interest in photography was piqued again. My wife bought me a digital camera and I was smitten and never looked back.
Len joined a camera club in Kitchener, met some wonderful people, learned a great deal and had a lot of fun going out on shoots. Now that he is retired and living in the Perth area, he joined the Lanark County Camera Club, and is also a member of the Perth Photographic Society. He joined the Canadian Association of Photographic Art (CAPA) and has received a number of awards as well as having some of his wildlife photos published in a children’s book titled “Listen Up”, by Stephen Aitken, Orca Book Publishers. He recently joined the Arts Carleton Place Association and is looking forward to meet new people, enjoy their art and share his as well.
Len loves to capture nature whether it is wildlife, birds, landscapes, flowers or anything that has to do with our beautiful surroundings. Recently, Len has enjoyed experimenting in the studio capturing still life, smoke, splash photography, as well as venturing into more urban photography. Len’s passion is to manipulate his pictures in the Digital Darkroom and create Photographic Art.
