Enraptured with the beauty of nature

Forever enraptured with the beauty of nature, Rachel Houlton captures moments through a multitude of media.

After graduating from Sheridan College from both the Art Fundamentals and Classical Animation programs, she has worked as a professional artist for 23 years, exploring both digital and fine arts. She now primarily uses watercolours, acrylics, chalk pastels, and materials she finds in nature to create art. Her focus is on realism, although she enjoys exploring the impressionistic whimsy of her multi-media pieces. She recently moved to the Smiths Falls area and was the winner of the 2023 Rideau Artist of the Year competition.

Rachel can also be found relaxing with her cats, baking a cake, working in the garden, and singing while playing her harmonium.
