Finding textures, patterns and colours

Stephanie is a photographer, mother of teenage twins and a former executive in a local software company.

Stephanie is a self-taught photographer, having fallen in love with photography in her early twenties.   Throughout her engineering career it has been a much-needed creative outlet.  She has recently decided to spend more time on her photography, making her work available for sale.

Stephanie’s other passion is travel.  She loves to explore new places in the world, especially coastal areas.  She has long driven her family crazy on their travels asking to stop for “just one more pic” or to wait so she can “get the angle just right”.  It was a natural evolution for her to focus on  nature and travel in her photography.

When exploring a new location, I like to view the big picture first (pun intended!) then start focusing on the details.  I love to find the textures, patterns and colours that present themselves when zooming in on a smaller part of a scene, sometimes going to the point of abstraction.   The same is true during the editing process, where I continue to refine and tweak until the image best reflects what captured my eye initially.  I know I’m done when the finished product resonates in my soul.

Stephanie uses a variety of media to print her photographs, as she believes the choice of media contributes to the overall effect and vision she is trying to portray.  You will find her work on HD metal, canvas, acrylic and in framed prints.  All her work is available as limited edition prints and can be sized to meet the customers needs.

Stephanie is based in Carp, Ontario.
